Spectacle Dispensing

Like eye examinations, spectacle dispensing is a fundamental part of Sercombe and Matheson Opticians' business and one of our areas of expertise.
As their job title suggests, spectacle dispensing is what our dispensing opticians do. Their job is to turn the optometrist's prescription into a pair of glasses that not only improve your vision but look good and feel comfortable. They will help you consider the available frame and lens options and discuss your needs and what's relevant to your particular prescription. They'll  make recommendations based on that discussion.  They will take precise measurements of the frame and your face to ensure your lenses are correctly positioned in the frame, which is vital to you seeing clearly and without strain. Dispensing opticians also adjust frames to ensure they fit exactly and comfortably - so if your glasses need adjusting come and see us. We have three of these talented people - Roger, Madelene and Arnold.

We aim to deliver a friendly and professional service and all our staff are trained in the fundamentals of frame and lens selection. We're all happy to volunteer an opinion on what you're trying on, or to suggest an alternative. And since we're an independent optometry practice we aren't bound to any particular frame or lens manufacturer, and this means we really can recommend what will work best for you.
