Sunglasses
You'll find a great selection of sunglasses and plenty of good advice at Sercombe and Matheson Opticians. Wellington has a lot of sunshine hours and our UV levels are high, so if you don't own a good pair of sunglasses it's time to rectify this.
We have sunglasses from the makers of our favourite European spectacle frames
Our biggest single range of sunglasses are from Maui Jim They make high-spec quality sunglasses with polarised lenses, mirror and anti-reflection coatings and we love them.
And in the very good value department, we have
We can put prescription lenses into most of our sunglass frames and they can be tinted exactly the same colour as the original non-prescription lenses. Prescription polarised lenses are available (and yes, in bifocal and multifocals too) and Maui Jim makes prescription versions of their unique sunglass lenses.
Other options for glasses wearers include made to measure sunglass clip-ons to wear with your existing glasses or tinted fitovers to wear over the top. Prescription sunglasses aren't always tailor made - we have tinted and polarised ready-made readers and bifocals at very reasonable prices. Come in and see us - we're sure we can find you or make something to suit and we'll adjust them so they fit perfectly.
